With uncontrolled poaching and habitat destruction, the tiger numbers are dipping with each passing year. Observing World Tiger Day assumes importance because as per the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), there are only 3900 wild tigers present around the globe. Every year the day is celebrated under different themes, and this year the theme for Global Tiger Day is “India launches Project Tiger to revive the tiger population” The day was observed at RIS, Dombivli on July 29th to raise awareness about this magnificent but endangered big cat. The pre- primary students expressed their love and support for the wild cats through a drawing activity.
