A child has a fully developed immune system when they are about 7-8 years old, making antibodies to protect him or her from harmful diseases and viruses.

The immune system is spread throughout the body and involves numerous types of cells, proteins, organs, and tissues. It can also distinguish between our tissue from foreign tissue — self from non-self. Dead and faulty cells are also recognized and cleared away by the body’s immune system.
