No more attending school. No more outdoor games and even forget about mall visits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ryangroup.org\/blog\/managing-social-distancing-during-coronavirus\/\">Social distancing is trending<\/a>, and that means no play-dates &amp; birthday parties either.\u00a0During this difficult time, your patience is tested. Yelling is ineffective and it just raises everyone\u2019s stress levels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kids love to play, so when you\u2019re playful, you work\u00a0with\u00a0your children rather than\u00a0against\u00a0them.\u00a0Here are a few activities to manage your tiny tots.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15 activities to do with your kids to keep them busy during social distancing &#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Puzzle together<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 When you take a break from your office work, just try doing a floor size jigsaw puzzle.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Bake together<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Be alert here, if you don\u2019t know any recipe don\u2019t open YouTube or any website in front of your kid, do this a day prior write-down the recipe on a piece of paper. Baking is a great lesson in measuring, ingredients, and of course, making delicious goodies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Play with Flashcards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 There are plenty of flashcards available, we are sure you must be having a few. Wild animals, body parts, Country flags, Planets etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Dance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Dance like no one\u2019s watching. Dancing is a great stress buster if you are busy just put on some music and let your child dance.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Make cardboard art<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Put all those unused boxes to use now, give them the box, let them explore, paint, cut.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Sensory Bag<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Make a sensory bag <\/span><b>&#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill it with anything and everything, (Dals, pulses, comb, pasta \u2013 dry ingredients) and they\u2019ll be engaged for hours.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This activity encourages the development of motor skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Treasure hunt &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hide anywhere from 10 to 20 items around the house to keep kids occupied for a few hours. Hide clues with each item, if they can\u2019t read, draw the clue \u2013 this way kids will try and recognise the drawings.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Screen time \u2013<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Do give them screen time, like they have recess in school. Explain to them about the screen time that the TV should be switched off by this particular time and be strict, stick to your time.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Practice meditation &amp; Yoga \u2013<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It\u2019s very important to practice mindfulness at this stressful time. Download some meditation app or just put on yoga music,If not just chant any religion mantra you like or hummingbird sound. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kids won\u2019t be able to sit for more than 5 mins, but eventually, they will. Remember they are watching you, you are their role module. So be responsible and be good.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Take care of plants<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 If you have plants at home, ask your kids to water them and just have a general discussion about plants. Teach them how to care for a plant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Setting up the cupboard <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Remove all the clothes from your kids cupboard and ask them to remove dresses which are old, now tell them to fold and arrange dresses colour wise.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Paper basketball <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Take an old newspaper, cut a few circles in between, stick it on a high wall and let kids throw small balls through the shapes.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Activity worksheets <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Educational worksheets are available online according to the age, print and just handover them to complete, this is more like home-schooling.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Ice war <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 In a vessel place your kid&#8217;s toy fill it up with water and some colour, freeze it, give some strong spoon or object and tell your kid to break the ice and rescue the toy. Kids love playing with ice, especially in summers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Study time<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Make sure studies are also on your priority. Even if your kids say it\u2019s a holiday, tell them this is not a compulsory project. It is for their skill development.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s important to have schedules in place.
